Coach Steve Spurrier announced after todays practice that JR wide receiver Joe Hills has decided to quit the team. Hills decision to quit the team comes on the heels of the South Carolina Coaching staff moving him to the defensive side of the ball as of yesterday's practice.

The expectation was that Hills would contribute significant minutes this year with USC's WR corp being so young and inexperienced. However, some of the new recruits such as Alshon Jeffery, Demario Bennett, and Tori Gurley have exceeded expectations and risen up the depth chart very quickly. The fact that these young and very talented receivers have progressed faster than was expected combined, Hills inconsistent career to date, and the coaches promise to put the best players on the field seemed to lead to Hills decision today to look for greener pastures elsewhere.
